Art graduated from Dartmouth College in 1957 and did his postgraduate work at the University of Chicago Executive Program. He started his career with the Chicago Sun Times after which he spent 40 years in advertising communications with both national and international advertising agencies. 

Art has made presentations at local, national, and international association meetings, conventions and trade shows and conducted seminars for veterans. He has appeared on TV and been quoted as an authority on the developments and challenges that affect older Americans in the Wall Street Journal, Business Week, Money Magazine, Fortune and in major newspapers. He was selected as a “Money Hero” by Money Magazine and was part of a panel on aging at the National Press Club. Art wrote a monthly column for Dow Jones MarketWatch for many years. 

Art founded RetiredBrains.com in 2003 and the site developed into a major destination for boomers, retirees and people planning retirement. 

Art is currently consulting and is working with companies seeking cost effective marketing strategies for their products and/or services to reach an older demographic. He also works with employers with issues involving their aging work force and with senior organizations addressing the challenges facing older Americans as they prepare for retirement. 

Art’s book Invent Your Retirement Resources for the Good Life, published by Oakhill Press, is a complete reference guide for those planning retirement and for retirees themselves. He has also written several eBooks available on-line: Lifetime Planning Guide/Resources for Boomers & Seniors, Finding Employment, Interviewing Tips and Resume Building.
